  • TONIGHT: -5, Clear
  • SATURDAY: 4, Chance late-day showers/flurries

Low Pressure in through the interior of BC will pump the ‘westerlies’ into our area today = mild temperatures…but…as that Low moves Eastward, it brings a chance of precipitation starting tomorrow afternoon, through Sunday morning.

Review: XM SkyDock

-XM-SkyDock
I love my XM satellite radio. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t listen to the service either in my vehicle or at home. The only issue I have with it is that I must carry the small receiver with me wherever I go. I probably could leave it in the vehicle when I’m not using it, but what if someone broke in? I’d hate to have to buy another one. So you can imagine my delight when I heard about XM’s SkyDock, the cradle that turns my iPhone into a XM satellite receiver. Could this be it? Could this device be the solution to my satellite radio woes? While it isn’t perfect is comes pretty darn close.

Kiptyn. Unedited.

kiptynThis is something I *never* do…so all you Bachelor fans are in for a treat!  I decided to post the raw footage from my interview with Kiptyn.  It’s long.  Like 8 minutes.  Which is long for tv.  We usually cut these things down but Kiptyn was so great and I know all you Locke lovas will appreciate all he has to say — so this is unedited!

Kiptyn (a favorite and former Bachelorette contestant) was in Calgary for a screening/fundraiser Tuesday night and gave us his thoughts on The Bachelor this season.  As always he is charming and gracious.  I appreciate that he was also as candid as can be.  A pleasure to cross paths with him again.  Thanks a million Kiptyn and enjoy Bachelor fans!

Rogers To Rid Of Roaming Fees in The U.S…For A Small Fee

Canadians who travel south to the U.S. know they should turn the data service off on their iPhones or face a hefty cell bill when they return. Roaming fees in the U.S. are killer for Canucks, but Rogers is aiming to change that with a newly announced North American One Rate plan.

For an extra 10 dollars a month, Canadians will be able to use as much data as their plan allows without being charged hefty roaming fees.

Review – Heavy Rain – PS3

posted on February 23rd, 2010 - Filed in Gadget Guy - No comments »

It’s rare for game studios to take leaps of faith these days. When games take so much time and money to create, it’s much easier to develop a sequel to a blockbuster title than to attempt to create a game or concept that no one else has tried. While the decision is understandable it’s unfortunate as that’s the reason we don’t see many games like Heavy Rain on the market.

Heavy Rain is a game unlike any we’ve seen before. It calls itself a Hollywood style cinematic adventure. The game doesn’t focus solely on action (although there is plenty of that) but rather an intense unforgettable story. Yes, Sony and Quantic Dream went out on a limb with Heavy Rain. And while the game may not be for everyone, it’s an impressive title many will be talking about for a long time to come.
