posted on December 7th, 2010 - Filed in Breakfast Television - No comments »

If you haven’t picked up your Christmas tree you are going to want to hold off till December 13th! I’m going to be on location Monday at the Calgary Interfaith Food bank – at 5000 11 street SE.

You can pick up a tree for a $10 donation and all proceeds will go to the Food bank!! We’ve teamed up with our friends at Home Depot who have donated all of the trees!  Come down with your $10 bill and holiday spirit between 630am and 9am and we’ll send you home with a tree! Ho ho ho!

Go Stamps!

The Stamps are well rested and ready to take on the Riders this Sunday in the Western Final!  I had the chance to chat with Coach Huf, Hank, Nik Lewis and Juwan Simpson.  Click here for the video – they were all awesome.  Got a laugh out of Nik’s smack talk – he doesn’t hold back!  Or maybe he does….

My buddy Red Dawg from CJAY came down with a truck full of watermelons and a Gainer-esque mascot – he didn’t hold back either.  Poor Gainer didn’t stand a chance!

I also pulled out some of my glorious cheerleading gear from 1998-2001 – WOW the poms were big back then!  No, really.  Those things were heavy and we waved them around at 3 Grey Cups.

Always a fun morning with my fave CFL team!

The Secret

posted on November 15th, 2010 - Filed in Uncategorized - 1 comment »

Soooo I had a *little* something done on Friday afternoon….here’s the secret —> *lash extensions* from Inglewood Beauty Bar!!

I fell in love with them after the lovely and talented Kristin Hursh (one of our producers) had them done.  I had a few girlfriends try them before hot vacations to cut down on packing and always thought the lashes looked super fabulous.

Being a girl who wakes up at 430am I’m especially in love with them because I got to sleep in an extra 15 minutes this morning!  No eye makeup necessary.

LOVE.

We want you to get Carried away and take home a Sex and the City 2 prize pack this morning!  Just add a comment to my blog post describing your FAVORITE Sex and the City moment and you could win the movie and some other swag!  I personally love the episode The Good Fight when Carrie and Aidan are arguing over bathroom space (”who needs FIVE Speed stick deodorants?”).

Love it.

GOOD LUCK!

We spent the morning at the Calgary Public Library and got SO many tips from the Career and Employment Centre.  It’s a wonderful resource and it’s FREE (if you have a library card) – check out the link!

Bow Valley College holds workshops at libraries all over the city on Interview Skills, Resume Development and Networking and Work Strategies!  Check out the link and click on “Business and Career Development” for a full list of the workshops coming soon to a library near you.

Be sure to check out The Career Show this coming weekend too!

Peters’ Drive In

Peters’ Drive-In is one of the city’s gems and we spent the morning makin’ shakes and giving away tickets to see Grease!  Congrats to all our winners who showed up to win tickets – Pattie, John, Alyssa, Kendra, Murray, Stephen, Trevor, Madisen and Christine are all going to the show!

We also invited The Rod Shop, the Calgary Mustang car club and the Calgary Thunderbirds (check out this sweet ‘66 convertible!) to join us for some eye candy.  I also got to throw on some scrubs to make a milkshake with the staff at Peters’ (thanks to Joanne, Sue and Hong for showing me the ropes).  Coffee vanilla for breakfast – yum!

If you’ve never been to the Drive-In, you have to try the fries.  And the onion rings.  And the shakes.  And the burgers.  Andy Schultz and Mike McCourt ate all of the above after the broadcast today.  Seriously.  Peters’ is the best!

RONACould you imagine living in your dream house mortgage free?  Citytv is looking for families to star in My Rona Home – Season 2!  We spent the morning with last year’s winners Vern and Krystle.

I helped with a  little sweeping before we rolled this morning.  Ok, I held the broom for the picture.  The house is still impeccable :)

Vern and Krystle entered online and won a house and all it’s contents (broom included!) by entering here.  Talk about a dream come true!

If you and your family are big dreamers then you could get to build your fantasy home from frame to finish – and get the keys for free!  Do you have what it takes to compete in television’s toughest DIY challenge.  You don’t need to be handy with a hammer – but you must be willing to work hard for your future (with the help of our experts!)

If you are a family that has had enough of renting and wants the chance to become instant homeowners, apply here through on-line registration.

Application date ends midnight, Sunday, October 24, 2010!  Good luck!
