ED! I had a feeling Ed might make comeback. Yesssssss! The guy who plays it safe his whole life takes a risk for love. *le sigh* I love a happy ending. And I love valiant Jake (as much as he geeks me out). Think he wasn’t looking for a rose because he already knows he might be the next Bachelor?!!
A few brief notes on the show Bachelorette fans:
Themes of the show: great comebacks, awkward kisses, drunk moms, brothers who wreck game, and family living room parties.
1. Reid’s hometown visit – greatest amount awkward kisses ever! Either one party is pulling away or the other is. He is such a calculated person it seems he can’t do anything without thinking about it first. I actually think its endearing but SO awkward to watch.
Theme: awkward kisses and brothers who wreck game (Brett, try to say nice things about your brother instead of flagging his commitment issues! Totally threw Reid under the bus).
2. Michael, Michael, Michael – what a sweetheart and a heart breaker to watch the kid get dumped. He is so genuine and totally the guy you want to set up with your single best gf because you know he will treat her like gold. Unrequited love is so tragic.
Theme: family living room dance party! This one actually seemed genuine, not like a great “family moment” planted by the producers.
3. Kiptyn – is a perfect specimen. He is also the toughest nut to crack. In the real world, I don’t really feel they would actually date. Jill cares what he thinks about her though so the stakes are high here.
Theme: drunk (and self-proclaimed overbearing) mother. And I’m pretty sure the sister didn’t really approve of Jill.
4. Jesse – does anyone else think Jesse wrecked his chances during the cricket moment on the hill? Jill asked “are you ready for this” and he wasn’t exactly quick to respond. Think he blew it in that moment. Or maybe it was his incredibly abrasive brother!
Theme: family living room parties, drunk moms, and brothers who wreck game. Jacob the Viking sure doesn’t mince on words does he? And how hilarious was it to watch mom rock out to the boys family living room jam? Hysterical.
5. Wes – I’ve gotta write a whole page on him. So many things to say. But it’s time to run off to the Grandstand – I’ll post after the show!

Good morning Jill!
I could not wait for your post so I could comment on last night’s episode! WOW. Last night was the first time I actually cried while watching the show. Le tear. Michael made my heart break a little when he cried… I mean, I’ve guffawed, laughed, yelled at the TV on occasion while watching… but cry? NEVER! I was heartbroken, broken-hearted…and my husband just looked at me and smiled… BUT he did watch the whole show again (yay me) and was even commenting on all of the goings-ons.
I was really put off by Kiptyn’s family…maybe it’s just me…especially his mom. Then again, this is the girl who may or may not be “the one” for her boy… so I kind of get it. And yes, I too got that feeling about his sister. The family just seemed so “perfectly-polished”…not neccessarily a bad thing, but they don’t come off as “real” to me. And that horrible hoe-down, or blues thing running with the credits, whatever you wanna call it… funny? Yes… and awkwardly horrible!
Jesse’s brother was BRUTAL at the onset… yes , he warmed up but you know what they say about first impressions…BITTER!! Jesse did take a long time to answer that question, Jillian definitely picked up on this one… but why Wes gets a rose over Jesse I’ll never know…
And Wes-McWeesley makes my skin crawl…I just don’t get it. “Here…meet my band” so now they’ll get their faces out there too and people can hear just how awesome we are! Can you tell I’m his number one fan??!
And then…what’s this I see?? Hark! It is Jake!! No alterior motives, just a good old boy doin’ what any lady-lovin’ REAL man would do. He was trying to save the princess from a whole world of hurt! Yay Jake!!
AND THEN…. another return?? ED!!!! Oh how we have missed you! He made a good decision to go back and ask for Jillian to give him another chance… look what it got him! I hope his initial decision doesn’t make Jill have too many second or “lingering” feelings of doubt… after all… he really didn’t want to lose his job on the chance he “may” end up with the girl at the end of it all… but absence made him realise just how much he truly is falling for this beauty! He’s probably kicked his own bum over it enough already and knows he’s got to make up for lost time and family-time…which is really important to a gal like Jill!
Reid of the Chandler-Bing look-a-like… RELAX! I’m getting some vibes that the technical difficulty may be Reid…don’t know what it is about him… I really like him most of the time, but he really is very “calculating” as you so eloquently put it… that or perhaps he is just keeping himself VERY guarded… once bitten, twice shy?
Okay Jill, I’m coming back here later to read all about your Wes rant. He exhausts me so much, I’ll leave you to it… My fingers can barely keep up with my mind when I start typing about that “d-bag”… know what I mean?
For now, ciao bella!

June 30th, 2009 at 9:35 amGood morning,
I’m thinking that Kiptyn is the front runner. He really is the whole package. Did you see that kiss on the beach? It looked real. He’s first on my list, then Ed and Reid.

June 30th, 2009 at 11:03 amI’m all for Ed too! I was shocked when he left, but had a feeling about his return as well… makes for higher ratings. Also, I wonder if Jillian really knows that Wes is the swine that he is, but is keeping him to the end to do a big number on him! Egg in his face – really get him back. I’m sure she tried to look into the girlfriend thing with sources. Watch his “fan” ratings drop as quickly as he thought they came up!
June 30th, 2009 at 12:07 pmHey Jill,
I say that in the end it is Michael that comes back and professes his undying love for her and that that gives her a moment of pause to second guess herself. I love Ed too, but I think that Michael might get the girl in the end. I realize age can be an issue but it isn’t always and I think that Michael has proved that. My husband is five and a half years younger than me and I can’t imagine being married to ANYONE but him!!!!
Love your blog girl!
June 30th, 2009 at 1:08 pmJill, love the blog!
I am sooooo upset that Jillian kept Wes, he is a really creepy guy, can’t wait to see what you write about him!
My vote is on Reid, still my favorite, but knowing the way Jillian has been on the show, it just may end up being Wes – ugh. Hated the smug look he gave Jake. Jake is a a bit weird too and what’s with the crying??!!
I do enjoy the show – kinda like a watching a train wreck – you really wanna look away but you just can’t.
Enjoy your Canada Day!

Hi Jill ! Great job on the high wire act on BT this morning !!! I am sure the young cdns would be more than happy to make you a member of their team. Speaking of teams, I am more than ready to join team Ed on the Bachelorette. I can’t believe she still let Jake go instead of Wes but maybe in the big picture of things if Jake goes on to become the next Bachelor he could end up with a nicer girl who is more serious about him anyways. Looking forward to that !!! I hope Ed lights it up on the show next week in Spain . Let’s see what happens !!!
July 1st, 2009 at 1:06 amI really liked Jake but on the last show Wes made a crack about him getting down on his knees and praying. So, maybe Jill dumped him coz he’s too religious, after all he is from the bible belt of Texas!!
