Is a Taxidermy Daddy a Dealbreaker?

I love the hometown visits – especially seeing Roberto in a baseball uniform.  Yes please!  Those two are adorable together.  The one possible obstacle for Ali was Papa Martinez.  The former Army ranger sure put her through the ringer!  Ali held her own with the conservative family man and joined in on the salsa dance party with the Martinez clan.  PS – how hot was Roberto’s mom?  Can see where the cute gene comes from.

Chris L – what’s not to love about that man’s family?  They are so close and have amazing values around marriage.  Did we all fall in love or what?  His dad shared stories about falling in love with Chris’ mom and said “love is the only reality” – *melt*!  Hard to leave that scene without a warm fuzzy feeling – even though I get the instinct Ali is just not that into him and he could leave without a rose unscarred.  One of our producers here says Ali should go for the “good guy” (as we all should but don’t).  Maybe Chris L is a case of good guys finishing sans Bachelorette.  That’s fine.  I want him to be the next Bachelor anyway….although I heard a rumor that the next Bachelor is another hot Bachelorette reject with a abs of steel and a couple of dogs…I say no more ;)

Soooooo…Kirk.  WOW.  His dad’s taxidermy workshop/meat freezer in the basement will haunt me for days.  The caribou foot with weird sticky eyes *really* put it over the top.  Enjoy the clip ->

In the end it wasn’t daddy’s unconventional past time that broke the deal for Ali – she’s just more compatible with the other 3.

Frank, Frank, Frank. That boy is about to sabotage his own chances!  He’s making drama without drama instead of letting it all fall into place naturally.  Yes, it’s an odd situation – but when you sign up for a show like The Bacheloreet don’t you bargain for falling for a girl who has multiple boyfriends?  Of course the circumstance can breed insecurity – that should come as no surprise.  The woe is me whiny guy thing is a turn-off right?  I bet Frank pulls the plug in Tahiti so he can guard and protect his own heart.

I REALLY thought he was the underdog….who could come out shining at the end… but that taxidermy room of horror …well, it killed (and stuffed) the romance for me. Am I that shallow that what someone’s dad does could affect me so much?? Apparently yes, because I could NEVER go over to his parents’ place again, and then I’d be “that girl who’s too good for our family…blah blah…” Ewwww to the taxidermy room!

    Heya Jill :D

Remember that line from There’s Something About Mary… “How’s my stomache taste?” Well then, enough said.

    Later Jill,

    *Ahem*…

Sometimes, shy guys are worth the effort. Believe me, I know all about it.

Personally, I think Frank and Ali have the most natural chemistry out of the remaining couples. (Pending the ninth episode, which I haven’t seen yet.) There seems to be a comfort level there, and they’d probably be a good couple if they could ever break the ice and leave it broken.

There are probably genuine reasons for Frank humming and hawing, though. He seems to have real reservations about Ali, and I think that’s what’s holding him back. He’s telling himself he loves her, but if he really did, he wouldn’t hesitate like that.

In general, it can be hard for shy men to figure out which women are worth the risk. If the guy is ready, though, the right woman can meet him half way and make it happen. It’s just a matter of timing and persistence.
