Hey all,
I promised the “crane guy” Marty a healthy breakfast after hearing he eats Red Bull and Chips for breakfast! So, I whipped up some granola bars for him… and shared some extra with the staff.
Now don’t go thinking I’m at all gifted in the kitchen… but this is one that anyone can do. So, because there was such a demand for my granola recipe (a couple people asked) … here it is:
3 cups of rolled (quick oats)
1 cup of cranberries
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup of sunflower seeds
1 cup of nuts (I like almonds but pecans are good too)
1 can of light condensed milk
1/2 cup of butter (I use margarine)
Bake @ 325 F for 25 minutes (let cool for 5 and then slice, they are easier to cut when a little warm still)
Happy baking all!
Susanne

Hi Susanne;
Tried the recipie last night. Yummy during the storm! Do you buy almond slivers or crush them smaller and what size of pan do you use?

November 13th, 2009 at 12:21 pmHi Susanne,
This recipe looks really good. Unfortunately I am allergic to nuts. Do you know if I could just omit the nuts or maybe increase the oatmeal.
I just watched Dave Kelly’s last show on BT. Going to miss him but wish him all the best.
