Father’s Day is almost here! Did you get Dad a gift yet! Well if he’s a photo nut he’s sure to love this.
Sony’s GPS Image Tracker will let Dad track all of the photos he’s taken on his point and shoot camera and map them on Google Maps. Sure you can get this feature in some high end cameras, but this handy little device can be used with almost any point and shoot camera.
Want to win it? Just leave a comment here on my blog and you can win. Tell me why yuor dad deserves to win the Sony GPS Image tracker. The winner will be selected at noon today. Please leave your first and last name! Good luck!
Congratulations to Terry Braglin. You have won the Sony Image tracker. Here was Terry’s comment:
OH MAN!!! Could we use that. We travel by motorcycle all over the US and Canada for 3 – 5 weeks every year. In 5 weeks, I can take 5 or 6000 pictures. I try to keep a journal so I know where we were and where my pictures were taken, but that is alot of work. I try to scrapbook all of my photos but end up leaving some of them out because I forgot where they were taken. Try riding downthe Pacific West Coast, and taking pictures in the small towns and along the beaches…I forget a lot!!! As a biker and a scrapbooker, this would be a HUGE asset!!! My husband would think this is the greatest thing, because when I say we were never there, he would be able to say that we were with proof to ack him up! In fact, we did that last night…nobody won…LOL.
Thanks!! Have a Happy Father’s Day
Thank you everyone for entering. Have a great Father’s Day all you dads out there! Look for another Gadget Giveaway very soon!

I just saw your feature on the GPS Image Tracker! Looks like a really smart gadget! My husband would LOVE this as a Father’s Day gift. He loves photography and GPS, so this would be the perfect blend! We have 2 little girls, and he is always taking their pictures. He just purchased a new camera and has had so much fun with it. Thanks for letting me know that this product is available. Great feature!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:16 amHello Mike: My husband would LOVE this gadget for Father’s Day. I call him “gadget boy” all the time. Any new piece of technology and he wants it/got it. We are doing numerous trips this summer with our new trailer and two and four year old. What a great “gadget”. My husband would be all over this. He spends hours downloading our pictures onto a website he has designed and LOVES Google Maps. He even shows our 4 year old daughter how to use Google Maps. This would truly be a fabulous father’s Day gift for him.
June 17th, 2009 at 9:16 amHi Mike,
My hubby is an amazing photographer and an amazing husband and father. He is also a huge gadget guy himself. We always enjoy your segment.
Have a great day

just saw your ad onBT for the GPS gadget and I think it’s a great item. I take tonnes of photos for my parents of my daughter (their only grandchild) and know that my father travels as well and takes a few hundred photos as well, and this item would be great for him to know where his photos were taken.
Hope you have a great day…:)

Hi Mike..
This gadget looks great!…..I’d love to win it for my husband. He’s a big time photography buff, and loves taking hundreds if not thousands of pictures…..only problem, he never remembers where he takes half of them. I’d like to give him this from our 1 year old daugter….he’s always taking pictures of her, and it would be great for him to know where he’s taking half of his pictures!
Thanks again!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:17 amCool stuff. Most of the time I need to remember to put photos in proper folders otherwise I am going to forget in max two three weeks time. It will be a great help in reducing major work of organizing!!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:17 amwow!! love this gadget!! my husband would go nuts for this…he is the ultimate sutterbug in our family…we have 4 children who are followed around by a loving dad who is constantly pointing and shooting…please consider my great man ,a loyal and loving dad to Bailey, Sarah , Matthew and Hanna…please help me make his day!!!!!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:18 amI think that would be awesome. We are going on holidays and what you said about losing where you have been is very true ,that way we can keep track when we show family and friends.
June 17th, 2009 at 9:18 amI would love to win this for my dad, only last year he got a GPS and he was like a boy with his first electric game. My dad has never been a gadget guy unless it revolved around his tractor or cattle. Now he has grandchildren he camps and takes holidays with them and is picture happy, this would help him remember where they were ( not saying he is old) and it would be one step closer to bringing him into the world of gadets!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:19 amHappy Wednesday Mike !
What a great little critter the image tracker could be. We spent the weekend at Peter Lougheed Park and travelling the paths and trails it would be wonderful to return to the same spots we took some incredible pictures at. We hike and bike quite a distance. The tracker would give us that ability. Check the picture I’ll send you.
Thanks Mike,
Rick
June 17th, 2009 at 9:20 amHi Mike,
My dad NEEDS NEEDS NEEDS this gadget! Every time we go on a vacation he spends more time trying to figure out where we are than enjoying the place we are in! If he had this then we could just walk around, take pictures and worry about it later! I could also have total proof for how I was right in the first place and always knew exactly where we were!!!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:20 amMy dad deserves this! His bday is day after fathers day as well. My dad is not the worlds greatest communicator but he is always there for me and my sister no matter what. He’s had a rough two years (divorce, melinoma, prostate cancer and trying to sell a house) he’s all perked up now and taking a trip to asia to see the solar eclipse next month. He is a gadget guy for sure and I think this would be an amazing and fitting gift for him! Fingers crossed ^-^

Great review Mike, always informative! Seeing the photographer use it in the way that he did makes it seem like an awesome gift for Father’s Day. I’ve been looking for something for my dad for Father’s Day for a while now and he seems to have every little gadget possible. An avid photographer my dad is a first time grandfather and him and my mom are always taking pictures of my niece. They recently started vacationing as well, and when they came back from their vacation I would look through their pictures and ask them where they were when the pictures were taken they really couldn’t remember accurately where they were. More vacations for them means that I will have to do my own interpretation of where they actually were.
Anyways, it was a great review again. Keep up the great work, I look forward to it.
June 17th, 2009 at 9:20 amHello Mike,
My Pop deserves to know this product is out there, because since moving over here to Canada from London UK 3 years ago, i have seen him once a year. If i had this Fantastic gadget, then i could take more pictures of our (Fiancee and I) trips out to the mountains and send them to him, with the hope of hopefully getting him on a flight (Scared of Flying) to come over.
I know he would appricate the photo’s and i would very grateful of the oppertunity of being able to show hime what Canada Alberta and BC has to offer.
Thanks alot,

Looks like a great gadget, sure would be nice to have one!! My father just happens to have a Sony camera.
My father lives in Thunder Bay Ontario and does allot of fishing all over, it would be cool to see what lake he took pictures at!
Thanks

June 17th, 2009 at 9:21 amFifteen years ago my husband had to sell his beloved motorcycle as we needed the money for the expenses that come with a young family. He’s dedicated to his family, is a valued employee and coaches community sports in his spare time. Last year, we finally had the money again to allow him to buy another motorcycle. Recently, he went on a road trip down the coast with some friends. He saw some beautiful places that he’d like to take us back to but he can’t remember where exactly the coastal lookouts were. This gadget would make a great gift for a guy with an eye for interesting places and a bad memory! Thanks!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:21 amMy favourite ‘Dad’ is a gadget guy, who happens to own a Sony Digital camera. As the economy has become more challenged he has less time to do many of his favourite things. Photography is one of them. We are soon to go on vacation and if I won this GPS Image Tracker for him, he may juszt have more fun taking pictures and relaxing this year.
Thank you.

June 17th, 2009 at 9:22 amI think my dad should win this because he is an amazing photographer and can never remember where he takes his photos!!! He got into photography last year, he doesn’t enter contests or anything but he just does it for fun! If you choose my dad it will be the best father’s day ever!!!!!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:22 amJust watched your segment on this & WOW – would my husband love this as a gift from our 2 kids. It would certainly help to keep track of where all our photos were taken in our travels & keep him organized (I can hope can’t I) ?!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 9:22 amHi Mike! I’m only 9 months old but already know I have the best dad ever. He is constantly taking pictures of me and if those great cables and wires mom is always taking away from me tell me anything it’s that he loves techy stuff! I would love to be able to give him one of those GPS thingys so please pick us to win! Thanks Mike,

I think that this handy little gadget is a great idea, especially for those who can’t remember where they were when they took their pictures. It would be a great gift to give for Father’s Day and would be used often. Carrying this little device would be much handier than a journal/pen, not to mention a lot less time consuming. Great idea!

currently use Eye-Fi for uploading photos, but thought this would be more user friendly for geotagging. This is an added feature on Eye-Fi. Also, I have another idea for you as far as reviewing gadgets. I have one of these as well. check out these websites http://www.tokyoflash.com/en/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ahc1Zh2p-D8&feature=related

June 17th, 2009 at 9:25 amMy hubby David would love this as our youngest son Jerrod is getting married on July 1st. in Victoria, B.C. @ Shawnigan Lake, It would be very nice to know where any pictures were taken.
June 17th, 2009 at 9:27 amMike,
Thanks for showing the GPS Image Tracker on the Breakfast Show this morning. I didn’t even know such a thing existed. I would love to see my Dad receive this. He loves to take pictures, and takes pictures galore. He is hoping to take my Mom on a long time planned trip to Sweden in September so that he can visit some of his family and trace some of his family roots. This would be an ideal thing for that trip. My Dad is the kindest, most generous man and it would be so nice to do something for him. So please consider him for this GPS; I know he would use it a lot!
Thanks for all you do. ~ Leanne
June 17th, 2009 at 9:28 amMy dad is a fly fisherman who would love this gadget. He deserves to win because he has been sick for a few years and is now getting back to health. When we go fishing it would be extremely cool to track where he has fished. Thank you.
June 17th, 2009 at 9:40 amGood Morning Mike,
I would love to win this gadget for my Dad. When I was growing up my Dad was always the guy behind the camera and still is. Now that him and Mom are both semi retired they are always going on adventures to remote locations. If it’s not on a standard map my parents have to go there. They are off the beaten path people for sure. This gadget would be perfect for Dad to be able to show case the best pics from their adventures and keep track of all the beautiful locations that they see that very few people would ever find. (Because its not on the map, yet.) I think that Google Maps and Google Earth would be enhaced with my Dads photos because there are very few pictures posted of these beautiful remote locations. Please consider my Dad as the winner for this gadget. I know it will make his day.
Happy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there.
Love the gadgets Mike keep up the good work.
Have a great day
Stacey
June 17th, 2009 at 10:04 amI do have a bad habit of shhoting pictures of my adventures and waiting a long time to take the pics off my camera. By the time I do i find myself wondering where I took the photo’s. This gadget would really help when it comes time to organize my pics…
June 17th, 2009 at 10:13 amI just wanted to add that I have to take the photos because my husband is driving the bike. But he is the first one to say…”Lets have a look at the shots we took today.”. He always tries to get me to buy the tecky things, but until I see you review them and I know if they are user friendly, I tend to stay away. He would love this gadget since he tried to get me to buy a similar product not that long ago.
Have a good one….. remember it’s not the destination, it’s the journey!!!!
June 17th, 2009 at 10:45 amMy husband would truly enjoy this gadget! He is always searching and researching the latest and greatest products available. He is the person everyone asks to take pictures at important events and when he puts together the “presentation” or trys to organize the photos he often can’t recall the location. I am sure this “location deficit syndrome” is a symptom of having so much on the go with our six children (yours, mine, all of them ours) and seven grandchildren, but it would be very nice to know exactly where we were when he took the great photo. This would be a great gift for my gadget loving guy!
Happy Father’s Day
June 17th, 2009 at 11:15 amWOOOOOHOOOOOO!!!!! Thank you so much!! We are so excited, I think we need to book a vacation!!!
June 18th, 2009 at 10:15 amhey mike long time no see its Matthew from the world championships of performing arts. last year you gave me and my bro a sneek a peek at the digital book. but ya it would be great for my father as a gift he loves fancy devices and my mom thinks it is awesome to. you should give this to us for my father is usually at work and me and my mom never see him. this would act as a picture book to commemorate his memories and also where he is.
June 21st, 2009 at 11:25 amGood info me and the wife were watching and didn’t even know that you could get camera’s with gps! Couldn’t see the need until we watched further and agreed this would be a great thing for vacations. Especially if you can load up to google maps you could probaly make a cool fly over with your pictures and share them with your friends….Think this is a gotta get before we go to europe angain next year….. I just thought, this would be fun on a golf course and take a picture of every shoot…. LOL then you can look at your game from the air in google maps and see how you actually managed the course……. now i gotta get it and try it….Thanks for the info I’ll be bugging the wife to get it for me as we speak.. Thanks
June 21st, 2009 at 11:25 amMy husband would lose his head if it was attached. A GPS to add to his pictures would be great because he may not know where he’s going but atleast he’ll know where he’s been.
June 22nd, 2009 at 5:11 pmThanks Mike keep up the great work!
