May 27th, 2009 at 9:45 amHi.. I never have a cam corder before..
May 27th, 2009 at 9:45 amSo I always wanted one..
My son Daniel C. saw your show and is pumped when you said it is up for grabs. He just signed for Media Studies at school and has to get a Camcorder for school projects.”I guess just for fun videos too”, Daniel says.
Thanks
May 27th, 2009 at 9:45 amHey Mike,
I would love to win this MinoHD. It looks awesome! Like the family in the trial, I too have a baby that I take a bajillion photos of and send around to family. We keep a baby blog too. We do not have a videcamera. I love the size and the ease of this MinoHD.

May 27th, 2009 at 9:45 amI need the Flip MinoHD recorder because I have the world’s most beautiful and funniest 1 year old grandson! He’s a laugh a minute and we often don’t think to get out the bigger video recorder. His other grandma lives in BC so it would be really nice if we could take lots of video and send it to her – she can then get as much enjoyment out of him as we do!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:46 amI am not sure if there is where I am suppose to say why I would love a portable camcorder or not but thought I would give it a try. I am currently in the process of adopting from Ethiopia and would love the portable camcorder to be able to record my first meeting with my child – it is still awhile until I travel so in the meantime I can tape all the summer activities with friends and family.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:46 amI have a faimly that continues to grow all the time. We have two boys of our own and are foster parents of two at time. We are always looking for an easy solution to capturing memories. We have a video camera but most our family lives in the states and it’s difficult to covert those to the computer… Where do we get one of these?
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amGood Morning! I always start my morning with you folks. I have been looking for the perfect purse sized camera so I can hav e one with me at all times. I love to record moments of Calgary, and everything I see that interests me. Forever I am on the way to work or somewhere and I see the perfect light, or shot of something, and ….no camera. This would be my purse buddy so I can expand my picture and video taking experience.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amHave a great day Guys!!
Darlene
Hey Mike!
I am 16 years old and I think this would be a great thing for me to win because i am home alone with my sister right now and it would be a good surprise for my parents. Also i like to make youtube videos with my friends. We currently dont have a camcorder and it would be great to have this summer because i like to go wakeboarding and then i can show the video to my friends and family.
Off to school now,
Jake
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amThis camera would be perfect for my busy family. I am a Mom of a 20 month old girl and 7 months along with our second child who will be born at the end of August. We also have a busy black lab cross who is very funny. We have an old (5+yrs) canon camcorder that records on tapes and I have yet to figure out how to get our video on to the computer. This would be perfect for our busy family as I would be able to not only capture more adventures we endure, but would also be able to transfer to the computer and upload for our friends and family to see! We have family all over that we don’t get to see very often and we keep them in touch with our personal blog – but we can’t upload video so they only get to see still shots.
I would love to present this camera to my husband for Father’s Day so we can begin to share the fun we capture!!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amI would love a small digital camcorder because I just graduated from university and it would be awesome to have something cool and small like this to document my travels and my next steps after school!!
Cheers!

May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amHi Mike!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amI NEED this camera! I have an 11 daughter who is constantly stealing mine to do silly videos with her friends and i have a 2 year old also who is extremely hard to capture, as soon as she sees my camera she’s on me!
We have family overseas who is constantly asking for me to send video/pictures and it just seems to hard to drag out my big outdated camera to take video to send to them. I am missing out on so much good stuff that I need a camera like this handy all the time to save all these precious moments I’m missing…..
Please we need this camera!!
Thanks so much
Angie
Hi!
The reason our family needs a MinoHD is that we have a 2 month old baby girl with a wonderful Grandma in Saskatchewan. We’d love to be able to record her precious moments and then upload them to the internet so that Grandma doesn’t miss out.

May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amThis camcorder would be great to record and send video to my husbands family in Africa. They would love to see there son in action.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amI need this gadget!!! I have a super-duper camera that my husband bought me for our wedding anniversary but it’s so big and heavy that I am missing great moments when we can’t haul it along. I have a new baby and i love to catch every moment. Also, I have having a huge fundraiser in the fall (Oct) to raise money for the YWCA Mary Dover House… it would be the ideal camera to take video and pictures of all the ladies at this event to post on our “fundraiser” site. As I am the host of the event, I LOVE to take pics etc but something like this FLIP phone would be so handy. I would also love to feature it at the party – would you be able to let me know which stores carry it? Well… hoping I have a chance to win this awesome little gadget. Thank you! Ruth
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amHi Mike….
I love taking pictures and now that we have a 9 month old we have tons!! I asked my husband for a video camera for Christmas and he told me I wouldn’t use it and what is wrong with using the video on our cameras??? This camcorder is perfect for us…..last weekend we headed out to the lake for the first time with Zack, we both forgot our cameras!!! This camcorder is a perfect size and it could just sit in my purse/diaper bag!!
I promise to send you videos of Zack and all of his firsts if we win this camcorder!
Thanks Mike,
Angela
May 27th, 2009 at 9:47 amHi Mike
I would love a Flip Ultra Mino HD camera so I could take video of my hockey player at the rink! Hockey equipment is big and bulky enough, and not having to carry a big and bulky camercorder too would be wonderful! Then I could share the excitement at the rink with family all over the world… (plus I love little gadgets just like you!) Thanks for your consideration!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:48 amI believe that I would get lots of use out of a thing like that. I’m not very good with all the buttons on other camera’s, and my daughter always says, “I wish I had a camera strapped to my head,” because of all the cool things she see’s in a day. This way she could have one (somewhat) and I would be able to use it too.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:48 amDuring a rafting trip down the bow river last summer my camera decided to go for a swim. Now I am faced with upcoming events that could really use the support of a camera. My best friend is about to have her baby, I am going on a family camping trip at the end of the month, Then I go back to Vancouver to visit friends i have not seen for 5 years and come back to Calgary for another friends wedding. I would like to think I have a great memory but a camera would help me to keep these events in my life. Thank you for considering my entry.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amRyan Jones
Hey mike i think you should concider me and my girls i have never owned a camcorder and think it would be great to have one just imagine all the cool things you can catch on vidoe would love it… keep in mind our family and the summer holidays of awsome film making lol… take care chat with ya soon when i receive my new portablecamcorder>>>>.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amHi, I saw your thing on tv about the mini cam corder. We would love it if we won this gadget because we do not even own a video camara!! My family and I are going to disney Land in July, so my sister and I can dance there. My parents would like to tape this event and send it to our grandparents who will not be there. Thank you for your consideration.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI need the portable camcorder because i would love to be able to save memories of my daughter. She is 4 years old and i have know video’s of her and that has always bothered me. I want to be able to show them to her when she’s older and say “look this was you at the park”, or “here’s a video of your 5th birthday party”. I really feel that having video’s of my daughter while she’s young would be a blessing before I lose these peresious years! Please please please pick me!!!!
Thanks
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amOn Sunday May 31, my husband and I are leaving on a last minute trip to Florida with our 6 year old daughter and 4 year old twin boys. We are going to Florida to visit my brother and his family as my 17 year old niece is undergoing major brain surgery on June 15. We are looking forward to spending some quality time with her before her surgery. We are also looking forward to checking out some sights such as Disney World, which would be great to have a small camcorder to capture this amazing trip. Our hands will be full with 3 young kids, so having something small would be awesome!!
The most exciting part of this trip is that it is all a SURPRISE to the kids. We will tell them at the airport on Sunday morning.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI think my wife and I need this camcorder because we are planning and starting a family. we dont have alot tech experience, so an easy to use camcorder would be beneficial. Also we dont have a camcorder in the budget. It would also be alot of fun in the summer at weekend ball tournaments. Thank you for youc considerayion.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amShane Meding

May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amGood Morning Mike,
I need that video camera! Being a retired senior citizen I have started to travel and would love to be able to share my “world wide adventures” with the kids and grandkids back home! They would be impressed that “Dear old Dad” has moved into the 21st century!
Cheers!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amOK so I spend most of my day outside on the GO GO GO with my new Buddy, He’s 14 months old and we play hard, sometimes we hit 3 or 4 parks in one day and there I am trying to get some video and pix on my cell phone, hahahahaha, the quality isnt great and well at least he laughs totally hard watching me try to get decent footage of his first spills, and tumbles, and swing rides, and encounters with new things….then we get home and I realize half the stuff on my cellphone is dark or sunbleached and that once again I missed getting those awesome moments on camera.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amHi
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI would love to win that camcorder because I will make good use of it so I can take lots of videos of my kids to send to their grandma who lives overseas and don’t get to see them.
I would love to win this camera as I am a soon to be first time mom. My parents do not live in the city so this would allow me to share video of my new baby with them. I do not currently have a camcorder so this would be a great starter for me as it is easy to use. Being a soon to be mom and a single mom, this Flip camcorder would sure come in handy.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amWHY WE DESERVE THE FLIP ULTRA HD CAMCORDER;
MY DAUGHTER IS A COMPETITIVE SNOWBOARDER, AT THE AGE OF 11. I HAVE MISSED SO MANY GREAT SHOTS AND VIDEO BECAUSE, AFTER YEARS OF OWNERSHIP, I STILL HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO USE MY HUSBANDS VIDEO CAMERA! IT PROBABLY WEIGHS 50 POUNDS AND IS A PAIN IN THE BEHIND. (I THINK IT MAY BE A BETA?!?!?- DO THEY EVEN MAKE THOSE ANYMORE…) THE FLIP CAMCORDER WOULD BE SO PERFECT FOR OUR FAMILY, IT LOOKS SO EASY TO USE AND VERY SMALL AND COMPACT. PLEASE PICK US AND WE WILL BE FOREVER A HAPPY FAMILY.
THE TUFF FAMILY
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI think I deserve this wonderful Flip MinoHD Camcorder because at the end of the year I am getting married and I would love to be able to film the whole event for memories.
Thanks,
Paul Tuffin
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI have a five month old and a two year old and they have just started interacting and communicating (if you can call their squaks communicating) with one another. I would love the MinoHD to capture these beautiful moments for future viewings and to share with my family who is missing all these firsts because they live in Halifax. Please Mike! We would love to take this ‘little bad boy” home!
Thanks!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amHeidi Feick
A small portablecamcorder would be awesome for my family. I have three daughters who love playing softball. What a great way to capture their at bats, fielding plays and share it with our families (BC and Sask). I’m not the most skilled when it comes to technology so basic is best!
Thanks Mike!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amCathy
(not sure if I should post that here, so I also emailed it to contest)
Hi Mike,
This camera would be great as we are expecting our first child early august and we only have a old digital camera (4 mega pixels). My husband family lives in Germany (including his 89 year old grandmother who would like to see her first great grand child before it’s too late, as her health is not the best anymore), so it would be great to be able to send them videos of the baby once he’s born.
Thanks for your help in making our family closer.
Val
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amGood morning, I just finished watching your review on the mini Flip camcorder. I think this would be a great little camcorder to have. I am expecting my second child On June 13th. My first child is 14 years old and currently I do not have a camcorder. The price point is great but with the expenses of having a new baby it would be nice have a little bonus of not having to spend the extra money and have video that we can send to family and friends.
Thank you,
Karla
May 27th, 2009 at 9:49 amI need that camer because when my little fella takes off and scores a goal, by the time i get out my camcorder its over and I miss it. I’m sure I would capture all his goals with that camera. We also have great comedy hours around the bondfires here. That camera would come in handy. Thanks,
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amStacey
Hi Mike,
I would love to have this mini cam! With two young boys, 7 and 5, and the majority of our families in Saskatchewan and Ontario, this would be the ideal tool to get some video to those that are far away!
The size of it allows you to pack it easily on the the go and simplicity of the software would make it fool proof for me and my wife to process the video taken on the camera, over to a format that the rest of our family could watch!
This is such a great tool for ensuring that the memories that our family makes will be caputred for ever!
Thanks
Brent Flint
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amwe go traveling a lote and we always forget the camera. Once i saw the MinoHD i thought to myself that i would never foget it because it will always be in my pocket.=)
MinoHD are awsome=)
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amI love my dad. I would like to win the camera for my dad for fathers day. my dad is the best dad. he loves me very much.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amHi Mike
We would love one of the cameras. My wife is extremely technologically challenged and this would shine a ray of light on the problem
Thank you
Ed Hagel
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amI was Hopefull that you would be slightly sympatyhetic as i was in a bad car accident last summer at deerfoot and airport road on july 23rd. I was heading home from work in the rain and hydroplained and lost control hit the gaurd rail started flipping end for end. Down the embankment to airport road across all four lane and was ejected from the car. I feel if i had the camera maybe would help give me the answers to what happened and what went wrong and help prevent any accidents like this!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amHi Mike,
I would love to have this cool gadget to film my 8 month old son Jackson. I have been using my cell phone for recording precious moments. We are about to take him on his first camping trip this summer and it would be great to film his first encounter with the lake and beach!
Thanks,
Krista.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amHi Mike, I just saw you and the Deters showing off the UltraHD and I think its great! Here’s why I need the MinoHD:
This summer is a big one for me and long-time boyfriend (6years 9 months) Chuck. We’ll both be officially graduated from our BSc programs from U of C, we’re getting our very first house together, and we’ll both be back at school this fall for the Master of Teaching program, fingers crossed (again at U of C)!! We’ll have a very very busy summer of firsts in our first house, and of course every summer after this promises an adventure with our two months of teacher vacation a year! We’d love it, please please please!
Thanks for the consideration, anyways
Christine and Chuck
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amI am a grade 9 student, working omy way up to grade 10. with going into high school, and even this year, there have been alot of projects where we have to make a video of sort. the best i got is a cheap digital camera that has no battery life. thats one reason why i need this comcorder, to do “good looking” school projects in HD.
Another reason is that my sister is in grade 12, graduation ceremony’s today, and for her birthday, which is december 31, it will be her 18th and we will be going to mexico. it would be great to have a comcorder to record our family experences and keep them as memeries forever. thats why i want this camcorder.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amWhat a great little camcorder!!
I am 38 weeks pregnant (only 2 weeks to go!) and Brent (my other half) and I had been looking into a few camcorders and just can’t decide which one. We need one that works well, is easy to use and has a great price tag. This one is great!
Although I am not one to record every minute in the labour room at the hospital (umm..no thanks), I would love to record all of the “baby stuff”. We have a great summer planned and with grand-parents and other family out of town and not able to always be around, a camcorder would be a great way to share all of our fun times!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amWe could really use a great little camera like this. We just moved out here from Thunder Bay Ontario in December this past year for work. We had to leave behind my wifes elderly parents and our oldest son (21). We would love to be able to share our experiences of Calgary with our family. We are trying to convince them to move out here and what better way than to be able to share Calgary with them to achieve this. We are loving Calgary more and more every day and think that everybody should live here. We are hoping to be able to attend the Stampede in July. We think it would be fantastic to be able to share memories of this with our loved ones. Please pick us as your newest Calgary Video Ambassadors. Bruce Maki
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amI would DIE if I had a camcorder of any sort!!!!! I have a 6 and a half month old baby and I would love nothing more then to capture all of those “first time” moments on video. I have already missed so many but its better to start now then to miss capturing them all. I also have family out of province that miss these moments, and being able to share them with my family would be amazing!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amHi Mike!
We would love to have this little camcorder for a very specific reason. We have a beautiful black lab named Emma who is getting older and won’t be around too much longer. She is amazing at running and diving off the dock into Lake Windermere where we have a cabin. We don’t yet have this on video and it would be so sad not to have a memory of Emma’s famous dives when she’s no longer around. This MinoHD looks like the perfect tool for the job especially because we’re so technically challenged!
Thanks for the opportunity!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:50 amI am leaving for Las Vegas in 1 week to marry my College sweet heart. This would be the perfect device to capture all the exciting (random) moments… as well as we would be able to use to document our future life together.
Say Cheese!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:51 amHi Mike,
May 27th, 2009 at 9:51 amThis camera would be perfect for us why, cause we have 3 boys ages 8yrs, 5,yrs and 4 years and it can be very tough trying to catch all the special moments as they already keep us so busy. Hubby and our 8yr old and 5 yr old are in Ti Kwon Do almost everyday and then our 8 yr old is in Soccer. This would be perfect to just be able to carry in my pocket and and take it along in our busy days… To be able to just whip it and start shooting would be amazing.
Sincerely,
busy mom Vicki…
I’m at at-home mum with 3 active, wonderful, BUSY kids – ages 6, 4, and almost 2 (her fave words are already are “Me Too!”) but we have no video camera at all! It’s just not something in our budget with only 1 income! This sounds AWESOME though and I LOVE that I could toss it easily into my bag next to the sippy cups, fish crackers, and sunhats and not have to invest hours to learn how to use it! All our grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins live outside Calgary so I know they’d love to see what the kids are up to more often — they’d be laughing for sure at all the kids’ antics – all those ‘every day’ moments that you miss when you only get to visit once or twice a year. Please pick me!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:51 amDear Mike,
I am responding to your question as to why I need the MinoHD. My husband and I had our first child in October. She is a beautiful 7.5 month old baby girl. However, we are both from other provinces originally and our families and missing out on watching her grow into such a lovely little person.
As we are on maternity leave, we live on a tight budget and can’t purchase our own video camera. We also have two boxer dogs and we need to be able to film our daughter with our boys. She loves to ride on their backs (with our assistance of course) and she LOVES to pet them. She laughs whenever they walk by.Last week she learned to clap and yesterday she started to say ‘Dada’! It was so exciting! It would be great to be able to film it and share it with our loved ones who are far away, and to capture these precious moments for the rest of lives and for her future.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely,
Kate McLaughlin
May 27th, 2009 at 9:51 amI would very much like to own a UltraHD camcorder as our family will be travelling back home (Montreal and Ottawa) in July. My 13-year old daughter, Keelynn, would be great at taking pictures on the go as we travel by rental car from Montreal to Danbury, CT and back to Ottawa. We intend to have a 2-day stay in Manhattan, NY visiting the Art Musuem, Central Park and the Empire State Building. This new camera would be just great as it is easy to carry around, light and will take wonderful pictures of our trip. Thank you. Nicole
May 27th, 2009 at 9:51 amHello!
My husband and I are due with our first baby in three weeks! Exciting? Indeed!!! Sadly, both of our families live out of town and we don’t have a way to send them updates on their first grand child. Sad? Certainly. The ease of use and portability of the MinoHD would be absolutely perfect for a tech-illiterate lady such as myself.
Thanks for the opportunity to win exactly what we needed at this exciting time in our lives!
Sincerely,
Monique Lawrance
May 27th, 2009 at 9:52 amHi Mike
May 27th, 2009 at 9:52 amThere are a couple of reasons I “Really” would love this little camcorder. The first is the camcorder we now own is 25 years old and weighs a ton. It is so old I’m embarrassed to even carry it around. Second is we haven’t had a holiday for 5 years and are taking one this summer I would love to capture it. I also have this amazing garden and would love to see how it changes all summer long. Another reason our dishwasher and fridge had to be replaced in one week and would love something good to happen. Thanks Mike for showing us your wonderful toys.
Wanda
I would just love one of these! I was shopping at Christmas time and found a small camera size photo/HD video device for $200 at Black’s but found it was the worst quality picture on stills as well as video. My family has grown to 5 in the last 5 years living in Calgary and it would be great to be able to send short clips of our family to friends and family back in Ontario, Manitoba and BC. They love the digital photos I send but action would be even better!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:52 ammy grandpa recently passed away , we have lots of photos however it would have been nice to have a
May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amvideo and could hear him. my grandpa had a laryngectomy and his voice changed . I would really like this recorder to record family like my grnadma
Our family consists of three VERY active boys, 8, 6 and 2. The two older boys are in spring hockey, soccer, baseball, and golf. The little one spends hours trying to hit the golf ball with his older brothers golf club or hockey stick, whatever is lying around. We have a an expensive HD camera which has a thick manual that neither I or my husband can figure especially how do get the footage on to the computer to edit. We are missing great moments and I would love to have something super easy and small to pop in my purse and take those shots I always thought would be great but didn’t have the camera. Please help us, Mike Yawney!
Sincerely, Dana
May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amWhy do I need such a cute little gadget like this one?? My husband and I just had a baby girl 3 months ago and of course we are Newfoundlanders who migrated here to Calgary 4 years ago. All of little Abigails Grandparents dont get the opportunity to see her playing, laughing, and growing. This little portable camera would be perfect to capture these milestones and send them across canada to our family so they dont miss out..
Thanks
May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amJody and Abigail
I need a camera/camcorder because i do not have a camera and i think that having one of these would be very beneficial in helping me prepare for next year where i am taking film and if i have a camera now i can work on angles and shots. please please please give me this camera.

May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amWe definitely could use a little portablecamcorder. My fiance and I are getting married this summer and what better way to catch the festivities than to record it. We are also planning to go to Europe for our honeymoon and would love the great keepsake of all the sights so we can always look back. There are so many other uses I can think of like capturing that winning Funniest Home video moment or having digital proof that I AM right in an argument with my future husband:)
Keep up the good work, I love you segment!

May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amOur family is a busy little family. We recently adopted our 2-1/2 year old son, so each day we are expereincing many firsts as we start our life together. Between him and our 2 dogs, a Great Dane and a Beagle, they are always doing memorable things that we don’t want to forget. As well, like the family on the show this morning, much of our family lives far away, and they are always asking for pictures and a recap of what is new with our son. A Flip MinoHD camcorder would be perfect for our family as we take our son to Drumheller, camping, Seattle and help him expereince many firsts.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:53 amThe MinoHD camera would be a great gadget to have for my fiancee and myself. In August we are getting married, and while the camera would be a great way to record that awesome day, the best use would be to have the camera with us when we go to Hong Kong in July. Her grandparents are too old to travel now and they are unable to make it out here to the wedding, so we are going out to see them. Because of their age this would likely be the last chance for her to spend time with them, and for me to meet them. Having the MinoHD camera would be a wonderful way for us to be able to record and hold on to those memories. That would mean so much to both of us.
Thanks!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amWhy I need this portabl camcorder…
I am always trying to catch the cute things my boys are doing and not having a camera doesnt help. Everywhere we go we try to borrow someone elses and they dont always lend out the good working one. I need this camcorder so I dont miss anymore cute memories.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amWhy do I need a Flip minoHD camcorder? Mainly because of all the things I have already missed. Almost 10 years ago I had my first son and we couldn’t afford a camcorder or a digital camera. Every picture was taken on good old fashion film, which ment a lot of moments were missed. One time my eldest was in the jolly jumper and had spun himself around, lifted up his feet and twirled. Lets just say the moment is lost and at least I have the memory. Then my second son used to log roll everywhere. That too lives on only in memory as still photography doesn’t do it justice. Now that I have another young one, we use the film aspect on our camera, but you can only record for 3 minutes. So for all the memories I’ve missed and the future memories to be saved, please pick me for you giveaway.
Thank you.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amHi Mike………….
Your presentation this morning convinced us……….we need the MinoHD to record our grandkids. Any grandparent knows how hard it is to capture that smile, that giggle, those first steps etc. when it takes the shutter longer to open and shut than the smile or the step lasts. By the time the picture snaps the head is turned or the smile is gone. This would ensure that those moments were captured from start to finish.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amMy High School Graduation, Which My Parents thought would NEVER happen is happening tomorrow Thursday may 28.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amAnd I would like to be able to Record the memories and Be able to Prove it really Happend.
I think we need a portable camcorder because my family has recently been relocated to India for work and we are hoping to get a bit of a vacation out of the opportunity. We are also trying to have a baby and would love to be able to film that experience to send to the family across the world. Thanks.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amHey Mike,
How are you? Hopefully , all is well. Id really like this camera and I know it will go to good use. I do volunteer work with an organization where some of the members families in other countries havent seen them in 2-3 years. This is a perfect oppertunity where I could record a video message from the members to send to their families. Its a little more then just a picture it will make their families smile. I would love to provide more information on the organization but i have signed a discretionary contract.
Please help me in making the world smile,
Thank you,
Matthew Reis
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amI woujld love to own this new mini camcorder because we have a huge “old” video camera with cassettes that I know are going to be unavailable. My other problem is that I don’t know how to get those cassettes from the camera onto a CD – so needless to say that we never watch our videos that we take. This video camera would be so handy because we could use it for school projects and actually have instant results. Please consider us for your give away.Thank you. Monica Mueller
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amHi my name is Caroline and I really want to win the Flip video camera and I think I deserve to win it because I have never owned a video camera so it really would make my wishes come true. I’ve always wanted one to video tape my daughters. So PLEASE……….PICK ME!!!!!!!!! PLEASE……. And thank you so much if I do get picked!!!!!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:54 amI imagine that many people with small children will want to have this camera so that they can catch all those special moments, their first steps, first birthday cakes, first day of school. My children are now 14 and 11 years old, and although we cherish the videos of them when they were small cut little preschoolers, we really got out of the habit of lugging on camcorder around. It was always just easier to grab the photo camera and go without adding the bulk of a camcorder. There are probably many moments during their elementary school years that we remember through photos but not video. It would be fabulous to catch video footage of them now as we embark on those wonderful teenage years, with band concerts, award ceremonies, driving lessons, hormones and all! (Just think of what footage we can have for their wedding videos!)
thanks for taking time to consider my entry

As a fellow gadget guy I always enjoy looking at & evaluating new gear. I am also an old AV geek from way back & in one of past lives also did some basic video production
With my wife & I starting a family & going on trips, trying to capture memories is becoming more important to us. Our families are also a bit dispersed & it can be hard share those memories with them. Still images are nice but sometimes having the moment tells a better story, but carrying around an extra bag…unpacking the camera…pulling out a blank tape….making sure you have a charged battery…etc…etc. By the time you have done all that the moment has passed & then there is transferring it to something else went you get home.
Having something like this would be the ideal companion to our compact digital travel bundle & would help us both move the capturing of memories up a notch & maybe allow us to capture some of those unique moments that we never have considered. And hey…who knows….maybe I could capture some footage that would end up on BT?
Please pick me Mike!!!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amI would love to have this camcorder take take footage of my four-week old baby Kamryn. Kamryn’s first big adventure is planned for the end of June when she’ll be flown into a back country alpine hut with her dad and I. Taking a large camcorder would not be possible and the MiniHD would allow us to record this exciting event. Furthermore, Kamryn’s grandparents who live in Halifax would be thrilled to have such a simple mechanism to share in her life adventures!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amI have two grandchildren. My daughter,( their mom) suffers from cluster headaches. Thes headaches are dibilltating and Heidi often can’t look after Josh and Ava. I have tthe children with me alot and she feels like she is missing so much. Josh is 3 1/2 and Ava is 1 1/2. I am technically challenged and I think I might be able to run this camera. Heidi could share in these special times that she is missing.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amI can’t say that I am busier than any other mom, I haven’t spent a day in their shoes, but some days with two kids and two businesses, it sure feels like it couldn’t possibly get any more hectic! Add to that the fact that over the course of the last 2-3 years ALL of our close family has left Calgary (thats 2 sister & a brother (aunties & uncle) and 2 sets of grandparents). We miss them terribly and to make matters worse, now that we are busier than ever and our support network is gone, we are also getting requests for photos and videos every other week from the aunts, uncles and grandparents who have moved! I love the idea of being able to throw the flip in my bag & catch the candid moments of our everyday life. Even more appealing is the ease with which I can share those memories with our families! Love this gadget!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amHello Mike,
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amI watched the piece on BT this morning, and was facinated with the Flip Camcorder you profiled. I am always trying to capture memories of EVERYTHING !! I am a struggling artist, and prefer to try to capture images of all I encounter, although if they are moving ie: bugs, flowers in the wind, animals all I get is a blur !! I would sure love to have a camcorder that would fit in my pocket to take everywhere with me.. not to mention drive family and friends nuts taking videos instead of just the still pics.. what a wonderful surprise when they recieve cool videos with their e-cards for birthdays, Xmas, and just for fun..
Carol
My family could sure use such a flip camcorder…. we go on many trips which we like to record.. we traveled down to Arazona this past Chistmas looking for Ghost Towns, our paln is to make a show one day on our adventures looking for gold… this summer we are going to do some gold panning and ghost town hunting in B.C. it is fun for the whole family and yes we have found gold… not enough for us to by a flip minoHD camcorder… thank you for your time

Kids are the root to any parents happiness and missing any moment of thier life adventure/accomplishments would be a shame, wouldn’t it? We have a spectacular Sony camcorder made in 2001 – top of the line back then! I wish I could say that now, however, yesterday went to “film” our daughters Spring Concert and once again LOW BATTERY after charging all night. Although we did capture a beautiful 5 – 7 mins, dark and not so clear… Was she smiling…We will never know.
How are we ever going to be able to use this footage when our kids are older? How are we going to capture those moments of pride and the complete embarassment to share at later opportunities…Wedding…Graduation… Times when we can all share the experience with the 2-year-old streaker from the wadding pool to the neighbors house?
We believe we are due for an better electronic device to capture these moments and preferrably one that is for the electronicaly challenged like myself
)
Thanks-a-bunch for your consideration,
Stacy Goulder (Happy mom of two)
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 amI have an eight year old son named Christian who is involved in many cool sports this summer. I would be great to capture his adventures for us to share and look back on when he is older. The other reason of course is that this camcorder is super cool, isn’t that reason enough?
May 27th, 2009 at 9:55 ammy son is getting into movie making and animation but he does’t have a camrea to record the movies and animations he’s making!

May 27th, 2009 at 9:56 amWe need this little gadget! I’m a proud new papa of a 10 week old boy who is growing up WAY too fast. I am working two jobs to make ends meet and end up missing many of his smiles and giggles (and spit ups!). We don’t own a video camera and I would hate to miss his first words, first steps, etc. and I wouldn’t if you were kind enough to pass this guy on to us. Thanks and have a good one!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:56 amIm not sure if I am doing this right, however, I watch the show every morning and heard that you are giving away the new camera!.
I am a single mother of a 9 year old. I have been wanting to purchase a camera but could not efford to do so. This year as I am taking her to Africa! With this camera I would be able to catch evey moment of our trip.
Children grow up too fast, and soon she will be in hight school, so I would love this camera to capture all that she brings to my life on pictures and vidio!

May 27th, 2009 at 9:57 amAs an instructor in the Digital Graphics Communications program at SAIT, I have recently been looking for a small portable camcorder to record short 1-5 minute lectures that students can download to their computers or iPods so that the students can replay the lectures over and over until they understand. This is a great tool for instructors for this generation.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:57 amI would use the MinoHD almost everyday. I operate and day home and have just been given notice that 2 of the children will no longer be in my care. I would use the MinoHD to document the other children on all our outings, daily actives and field trips. I could then sent the video to all the parents as a keepsake. I cant go get one now that I have 2 kids no longer requiring care
May 27th, 2009 at 9:57 amHello Mike !!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:57 amI was watching BT this morning (with my 10 month old daughter, Ella), and I saw your segment on the flip video camera. The family that was testing this camcorder was talking about how they record all their baby’s “firsts”. All I could think about was how much I’ve already missed with Ella because I am “technology challenged”. I really liked how simple this camcorder looked…it looked like even someone like me could figure it out !! Winning this camcorder would be a bonus in the Plaxton family, especially since I am on maternity leave and not making much money, and Ella still has lots of “firsts” coming up….like her first birthday on July 12th !! Wouldn’t that be a riot to videotape and be able to show the grandparents (none of which live in Calgary)!!
Thanks for the opportunity to submit my name to win this fantastic gadget!!!
Michelle (and Ella) Plaxton
We need a small portablecamcorder…..My husband and I have a 2 year old son who is always doing funny things and is always on the go. My husband works alot and sometime he misses the funniest things not being here and is always telling me to record it, but our digital camers doesnt do that. The lilttle adventures that our son and his puppy, Nixon, have are so priceless and we have been told that he is a child with a thousand experessions. A camcorder would be just the thing we need to capture all of the lil moments that sometimes only a mom gets to see and share it with all the people that we love….and thats why we would love to have a portablecamcorder.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:58 amWOW!! What a great camcorder! I would really love a new camcorder. I don’t have a camcorder and there are so many great events coming up in our family, Mom’s 80th birthday, my youngest baby will be nine and a few weddings this summer. I am very new to the computer and this little gem looks like a toy I can actually work. I will be able to download and even burn a DVD. I may even be able to edit and not have hours of recording that only a mother will enjoy.
May 27th, 2009 at 9:58 amI’m sure if I have have trouble one of my 3 kids will enjoy teaching me!
Hello! The reason why I would LOVE to have this dream camera is very simple…. a 2.5 year old little girl & a 6 month old little boy! I have been taking photos with my very old digital camera, and I was hoping to get a video camera for mothers day for the last 2 years!…. but no such luck! maybe my luck will be different with this contest :O))
May 27th, 2009 at 9:58 amPlease Please Please?
Hi Mike, I just saw the new little HD camcorder on the show, and it looks like something we really need! We have a very busy one year old, and so often still shots just don’t portray the moment well enough. This summer he and I will be going to our cottage in Ontario. Unfortunately, my husband can only come for a week, so he will not see our son for 6 -7 weeks. We have a laptop at our cottage, so all we need now is a handy dandy little camcorder to record our son’s first year at the beach, in the boat, on the sand, etc. That way daddy can experience all the fun too!
Thanks,
May 27th, 2009 at 9:58 amLaurie Wright
Well Mike,
It’s simple! I do not have a camera at all and maybe you can help me. I am not gadget’s type of guy and I think the flip will be pefect for someone like me. I would also love to start sending photo’s of my family to my parent’s, who are back in manitoba. Please Help….

May 27th, 2009 at 9:59 amHello Mr Gadget Guy:
Now that I was laid off, have the chance to watch bt all the way, and I like it. I am an independent filmmaker and had in mind to do a project with a consumer camera, this one would be perfect, because is in HD and has the software to edit it as well, that way I wouldn’t have to rent editing suits. The sound issue will not affect my porpuses, because I would record sound independantly.
I hope to win it as well, because now I have more time to spend with the kids, and with the fip, could email videos their grandpa down in Colombia a lot easier.
Congratulations in your section, one of the favourites or us guys.
Best Regards
May 27th, 2009 at 9:59 amCould I say please again?
May 27th, 2009 at 9:59 amOn Sunday May 31, my husband and I are leaving on a last minute trip to Florida with our 6 year old daughter and 4 year old twin boys.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:00 am**Not sure if this worked the first time!**
This would be awesome for skiing and hiking as we do in the Crowsnest Pass. I am a ski instructor and I have been trying to figure out how to show folks what they need to work on and that camera would be great. Well, thanks for the opportunity. Laura
May 27th, 2009 at 10:00 amMy family would love this small portable camcorder to capture our fun family moments. I am a stay at home mom of a 20 month old boy, who is very active and adventurous. Nothing would be better for our walks then this camera, as I only usually have one hand free to record these precious times, because the other hand is always picking the kid up off the ground, dusting dirt off of him, or just having to hold his hand while we walk. It would also be wonderful for his dad to see what he does all day, as dad works long hours, and sometimes does not get to see him, dad is gone before he wakes and sometimes not home until after he has gone to bed, so PLEASE pick us to enjoy this handy gadget…..
May 27th, 2009 at 10:02 amHi Mike,
My son is 10 months old & I haven’t been recording his cute moves, because my cam-corder sucks!! It’s so difficult to use. My parents live overseas & haven’t seen my baby since he was born & they keep asking me for some videos for him & the go crazy when I tell them that I haven’t been taping all the moments with him.
So I’d like to win the MinoHD so i could start capturing my son’s moves, for me & my parents, also I haven’t won anything in my life so I’d like that at least for my son!
)
May 27th, 2009 at 10:02 amThank you!
I need this little camcorder because I am the laziest person on the planet and my children’s lives are going unrecorded because I can’t muster up the gumption to haul around the enourmous camcorder we bought many years ago before size mattered (did you notice that I am so lazy I just created the longest run on sentence just to avoid having to add punctuation)!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:02 amOnce I have loaded four sets of hockey gear into the back of my pickup, my four children all pile in. Another typical winter weeknight. We will do this for ten months when we trade in the hockey gear for baseball and football gear. Needless to say, Even if I had room to pack the ancient camcorder collecting dust, I just wouldn’t have the time to pull it out and use it. Never mind the time it takes to hook it up to view the images. What I REALLY need is something small and convienent that I can pack in my purse and always have on hand. I was fairly diligent about capturing the memories for my first two but I have to say I have totally dropped the ball on my last two and they will surely bring it up with me later. Help me Mike Yawney! I would absolutely LOVE to get my hands on this great little gadget. I am more then willing to sacrifice the image stabilizing and the optical zoom, it beats the heck out of no vidoe altogether!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:02 amGood Morning Mike!
I really do NEED this camcorder, this has been on my list of things to get for my boys and I for almost two years. I price them out and always find a reason why it’s not a good time to spend the money. I talk about getting something second hand and procrastinate because I don’t know alot about ‘gadgets’….lol!! I have two teenage boys and they both play A Lacrosse. I am missing recording so many events and activities that I would love them to have in the future. As they are getting older, it feels like I am running out of time and missing so much. We have some folks coming to Calgary for a big ‘Canada Day Tourny’ from the Czeck Rep next month, this will be an amazing experience of Lacorsse and culture for everyone, I would love to record and share. We would really appreciate it and be thankful from the bottom of our hearts.
This would be awesome and so exciting, it would be our bestest ‘gadget’……..LOL.
Please help me to start recording our lives today……………
)
Thank you and have a Fabulous Day
Christine.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:02 amMy son the aspiring photographer of the future would love to be able to use the HD flip. He carries his camera, tripod, and other accessories around but has not enough hands to be hanging onto a big camcorder as well. He’s travelling to Ontario this summer and it would be great to get some video from his as I will miss him so much. Thanks for considering us as the winners today.

May 27th, 2009 at 10:03 amNot sure if my comment got posted but I really want this Flip video camera I’ve never owned one so please give it to me PLEASE………… I’ve been asking for one ever since I had my first daughter and she is turning 10 in September so please give it to me please…………:)
May 27th, 2009 at 10:03 ami have trouble taking pictures with any camera but seeing the demonstration with this portable camcorder,
May 27th, 2009 at 10:04 amon how easy it is to use, i can capture those moments with my family and friends at bbq’s, my daughters
special moments when she actually bikes to work, and those moments when the birds come each morning to eat and i can actually show my family and friends that birds do come each day, but most of all
i can actually use technology that only has 4/5 functions without having to get a professional to show me
how.
I need the Flip because I’m still old school with my 35mm film camera and I do not have a camcorder. The camera I do have is so big to lug it around wherever I go with the kids is inconveinent. That said I miss alot of photo ops. If I had the Flip these opportunities would not be missed and I could even share them with the relatives.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:05 amHi Mike,
I love watching your segment, my fiance is a huge tech nerd and I love to tell him about all the new gadgets!
I would love to have the Flip MinoHD because my fiance and I are tying the knot in September… But our wedding is going to be very different then most because we are getting married in DISNEYLAND!! All my dreams of becoming a Princess are coming true, I even get to ride in Cinderella’s carriage!
I would love to have the portable camcorder so I could catch all the moments of the big day but still look like a beautiful bride who isn’t carrying a gigantic camera. I could hide that tiny little camcorder in my bouquet!
I promise you if I win I’ll wear Mickey ears at my wedding.
Thanks,
Brettainy
May 27th, 2009 at 10:06 amHi Mike,
Love your bit in the show!
We REALLY NEED :O) need FLip’s new UltraHD camcorder, because we have a very very active into everything & totally adorable 17 month old baby girl Lillie who has family everywhere. And a father that misses her when he is at work.
Grandparents living in New Zealand, a 86 year old Great Grandmother , one Unlce in Australia one in Toronto and one in Penticton.
The camera we have now can only e-mail 30 seconds of film. Everytime Lillie does something new or funny she stops what she is doing and just stares at the camera then when we have to turn it off she goes back to what she is doing. This happens all the time. PLus it would be a fantastic Fathers Day surprise!!!
Would love to put somthing witty in but can’t think right now, (Lillie is teething and was up every hour this morning eeek! ), better go she is standing in the table.
Really hope you consider us, as would love this and funds are tight right now.
Cheers
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amSally & Lillie
I would really enjoy using this portable camcorder because I’m going to Indonesia this summer. I plan to visit the Urangatang reserve in Borneo, and I’d like to film the animals I see. We have to travel by boat for 2 hours through the jungle and then trek through the jungle to see the urangatangs. My big camcorder is not only bulky and heavy to carry through the jungle, but I’m afraid it might be intimidating to the urangatangs when it’s brought out. I’m visiting their home as a guest and I want to be respectful. The Flip MinoHD would be hardly noticeable and I would be able to flip it out at any time without any bother. I love the fact that it can be operated with only one hand and you can use your thumb to adjust the controls. I also love the fact that you don’t need to read extensive directions before you try it, however, I would read them for sure. Thanks for the chance to win a Flip MinoHD camcorder to record my once in a lifetime trip to Borneo!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amGood morning! I want to enter the contest for the UltraHD camcorder because in September, I plan to return back to school in pursuit of my Bachelor of Nursing degree. I want to be able to remember every moment of my life over the next 3 1/2 years…I regret not having any of my happy memories captured from the last time I was a post-secondary student. This time around, I want to take advantage of this technology so I will not only be able to look back on the memories that I will acquire on video, but also share them with my friends via email and maybe even YouTube along the way.
Also, in August, my sister will be travelling to Rwanda to help build a school, and I would certainly share my UltraHD camcorder with her, so that she could encapsulate her life-changing experience on video, and of course, keep her family and friends updated daily!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amOur second baby, Cate, was born Monday morning, making our son Spencer a big brother. We’ve been tossing around the idea of getting a video camera for the past few months but are a bit daunted by what’s available. Neither of us is very technically savvy, nor do we have the time to play around with the gadgets we already own, so this camera would be perfect for our growing family!
I’m sending a pic of Spencer and Cate to the link on your homepage.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amHi Mike I would love love love to have this little HD recorder – my wife makes me pull out the old 25 pounder and carry it on vacation. Not only is it akward and embarassing as we purchased it years ago, but it is no longer holding the battery charge and I am thinking it may be on its last legs. Of course we are heading away in July with the kids and man would I love to leave “old bessy” at home!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amRecently, we were at a good friend’s house and she showed us a slide show she did for her husband’s birthday. It had a couple of great videos of their older daughter meeting some milestones. I got teary eyed. Up until that point, I always thought video was a waste of time. You record it and then never look at it.
My daughter turns 3 on Sunday and my younger daughter is 8 months. They adore each other, except when they are fighting over toys
I have taken one or two clips of video of them together and I love to look at it and share it. It is on our 4 year old Canon camera and the quality is not great. If you decide to give us the camcorder, I’ll put it in my huge bag of kids stuff and take it everywhere!
Thanks,
Catherine
ps We are planning on buying a new camera this summer…any suggestions for a good digital in the $500 range. We just want point and shoot but really good quality. Everyone is our families are big Canon fans. And thanks for the comment about digital vs optical zoom…I always wondered why zoomed photos on my camera looked so grainy!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:07 amHey it’s me Caroline again just making sure you know how interested I am to wining this Flip my brother in law just had a little boy yesterday so it would be awesome if I could video tape the little guy when we go meet him so PLEASE……… PICK ME!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE………….. And thank you so much if you do!!!!!:)
May 27th, 2009 at 10:12 amHey Mike! We just moved to Alberta a few months ago. It’s been a great new adventure for us! We’ve been doing many “touristy” activities and look forward to our first summer camping in the mountains. This camera would be a great way for us to document our adventures!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:12 amOur family of five would love to have the MinoHD portable camcorder to record our everyday activities to be able to send (via email) to all our family living beyond Calgary. It would be an affordable, easy & convenient way to record soccer & hockey games, dance recitals, school award presentations, pets, lost teeth & broken bones, holiday adventures and then quickly forward them to Grand-parents, Aunts & Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The recorder would be easy to put in a pocket, backpack or ziplock bag.
All three of our children are finding they are needing a portable camcorder for school projects to record group work & skits as well as documenting special projects. Just this passed weekend it was a requirement to complete an English project. This camera would allow our kids to develop their creative and artistic as well as cinematography skills with the ability to edit and delete.
A family requirement for the 21st century.

May 27th, 2009 at 10:13 amI am taking a job posting in Mexico for a year. The Flip Ultra HD camcorder would be the perfect way of keeping in touch with family at home in Calgary, allowing them all to view aspects of my new job and new surroundings. I love the compact size of the camcorder which will ensure it can be with me all of the time and the shear simplicity of operating the camcorder will be a huge plus for me.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:13 amI will be happy to show them the sun and sand of Mexico come January.
Oh and my cousin is graduating from Sait on Monday so what more can I say but I could really use this Flip!!!!! PLEASE PICK ME!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE………..:)
May 27th, 2009 at 10:14 amAnytime your ready just PICK ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! It would be an excellent way to start the day so PLEASE………. PICK ME!!!!!!!:)
May 27th, 2009 at 10:16 amFirst good luck choosing, there are so many great reasons!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:16 amMine are: I am taking my 3 year old and my 5 month old to New Jersey to meet their older brother and sister, Grandma, Grandpa, 5 uncles, 3 aunts and 7 cousins for the first time in August and to capture all those special moments would be incredible. Thay will also see the ocean for the first time and I think the joy and shock on their faces will be worth a million words (or pictures). I don’t have a camcorder and am missing out on documenting all those special moments that they will want to see later on. I could also send the videos to New Jersey so they can feel like they know the kids even though they are so far away!
I am also on a quest to lose all the baby weight and then some and would love to document it and I can even do a video diary for BT, it might give me more incentive and I might be more succesful?!
Thanks Mike, I love your segments and never miss them!
I would love to own one of these cameras! I think it someone electronically challenged like myself could figure out how to download the videos- it looks pretty easy!!!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:17 amHI Mike,
May 27th, 2009 at 10:21 amI would LOVE that camcorder,I have never owned one before. It would be perfect for this summer as I am going to New York and would love to capture the memories! Also my best friend is having her first child in the fall so it would get plenty of use! Thanks for considering me to win!!!!
We never had a camcorder when our kids were little and I regret not having some of the special memories of my kids growing up! This summer, my husband is taking a sabbatical and we have an amazing opportunity to travel through Europe with our kids, who are older now. This camcorder would be the perfect size, considering the limited space for packing for a trip like this. Because of their ages, this may be the last family trip we take all together and it would be wonderful to capture these particular memories! We would also love the opportunity to be able to share our time by updating family and friends while we are away. Not to mention, this would completely make my day today!!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:22 amTop of the mornin’ Mike
WOW love to have that MinoHD camera for on-the-go recordings – would always have it cause I could keep it in my purse – so many times we’ve said “Wish we would have brought the cam” and didn’t – great gadget Mike
May 27th, 2009 at 10:23 amWe just had twins (bringing our kid total to 4) and this little camera would fit perfect in our diaper bag to catch all the moments I might be too busy to remember later. And anything HD rocks!!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:24 amHi Mike, my family would love a new camcorder. our last one was taken apart by my then 6yr old daughter when it broke down. Ever since she hasn’t been able to show her true artistic side to the family or the world.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:25 amThanks, Todd.
Our family could really use the video flip because:
- Our son is graduating from college next week
- Our daughter is graduating from high school this week
- Our youngest daughter is turning 14 soon
- Our kids have grown up so quickly and we have very little of video footage of them
It would be wonderful to have video footage of these exciting occasions, and before we know it, the chance to record other events such as weddings and babies arriving.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:26 amThanks very much!
Kathryn
I never though about owing a Flip Ultra HD camcorder you made it look so easy to use – therefore put me on the list to win one of these camcorders so I can put some fun back in my life.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:26 amHi Mike,
This camera looks perfect for my family and I! We have a 2 1/2 year old son who is constantly on the go and are expecting another in August. With this portable camera, we would be able to catch all of our son’s activities and the firsts that will come with the new baby! It would be great to have those memories recorded and have the ability to share with grandparents who all live far away.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:31 amI would love to have one to capture my newest addition to the family- Kiara – my 3 month old baby girl! She is just starting to laugh and smile, and it would be great to capture that!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:35 amOk Mike, here’s why. No one ever believes me when I tell them about the totally wacky things my kids do. A worm collection just doesn’t last till Dad gets home from work (we’ve tried-bad result), and naturally, I have to wash the Sharpie marker tiger stripes off before they set. No one ever gets to see the contortions a 4-year old will get into to get the stripes “just right” on their back, or how happy the worms really were to be captured….before they dried up. So that’s why….I’d sure love that little camera!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:36 amWe are expecting our first child in early June. We have been looking for a camcorder for quite some time, trying to find the right one. We thought it would be nice to have a camcorder to record all the important moments of our baby’s life and since my parents will be moving to Houston in September,we thought a camcorder would be a great way to send them videos so they don’t miss a moment of their first grandchild.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:37 amGood morning Mike,
I love seeing all the cool gadgets that you show. I would love to be able to add a Flip Mino HD camera to my bag of tricks. My family calls me the paparazzi. You always get the best shots when its unexpected.
My nephew and his buddies are in into dirt bike racing and I love trying to get the best shots of all the racers and the crowds that cheer them on. I have been approached by several parents and spectators about weather I sell my photos and videos ( which I don’t have a camcorder ).
I am seriously thinking about starting my own biz with all the interest that I have received. I think that a camcorder would be so much fun to have.
Keep up the good work Mike. Love the gadgets
Have a great day.
Stacey
May 27th, 2009 at 10:38 amMy husband has strict packing rules for vacation road trips, he says there needed(partially my fault). this would be an awesome space saver and simple enough even for him to use.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:43 amThis would make it easier to catch the kids in candid moments due to it’s small size and torture them with the hidden evidence when the get married.(I still don’t know how my parents got that still shot of my sister throwing a fit when she had a squirrel stuck in her big hair) me and my husband eloped.
Also My brother in China rarely get to see my 3 girls this gadget would make it so easy to send him updates.
and like Caroline the above poster says “just PICK ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!! “”PLEASE PICK ME!!!!!!!”
Hi Mike,
I would love to have a little camcorder because I have a 5 month old beautiful baby girl and a camera that runs out of storage when recording. Just not enough time to get her in video when she is growing up!
May 27th, 2009 at 10:45 amMe again Just checking if you have picked me yet . But I have so many other reasons why I could use this Flip that I was thinking of my cousin is getting married in July and all the little events we are having for her before the wedding.:) And I’m going camping a few times this summer because I’m not working this summer so I will get to spend more time with my girls so PLEASE……….. Give it to me!!!!!!!!! I would be so thankful!!!!!! Seriously just give it to me please……… I need one so badly………….. Come on have a heart and give it to me since I have never owned a video camera please…………….
May 27th, 2009 at 10:52 amWe were at a friends house the other day when they pulled out there slick, ‘thousands-of-dollars’ camcorder which they were very proud of, kinda like a first born they way they talked about it. They almost looked frightened, or maybe it was appauled, when we broke out our 2001 brick! I went to put it down on thier granite counter top when I thought I heard a faint screeech and she said here let me take that for you and I’ll put it over here on the floor. After she put it down she began to massage her shoulder as if she had pulled something???
So for the of friends, I would love this amazing little Flip Ultra HD camcorder…
I look forward to visiting your location when I have to pick this up ;o)
Warmest regards,
Stacy Goulder
May 27th, 2009 at 10:57 amWell it has taken me 15 minutes just to figure out how to “comment” on your blog – challenged or what? In August I will become first time “Nana” and this would be perfect (once I have mastered the technology) for recording all the memories and for sending to the other first time grandparents and great grandparents who live in Britain and Dubai so we can all “ooh” and “aah” and grin from ear to ear together.
May 27th, 2009 at 10:58 ami have 3 kids and 2 dogs and we adventure 25 hours back to Ontario for the summers, no electricity or running water for 6 weeks!. i can barely keep up to them, nevermind being the most tecnologically challenged person out there… would love to document our trip, and a (dreaded!) family reunion. as my kids are older now (13, 11 and 9) i realized that i have not video’d them for at least 6 years… that is when our old camcorder died… please help me be a better mom!!
May 27th, 2009 at 11:02 amlook forward to your segments!

Hi,
My wife and I are expecting our first child in early August and we only have a digital camera that’s 5 years old (4 Megapixels), so to have a camcorder that is easy to bring would be perfect, as all of my family is in Germany, including my 89-year-old grandma, whose health is very fragile and whose biggest wish is to be able to see a great-grandchild before it is too late. With a camcorder we could capture these precious moments and send them to her, so she can partake in the joy. Of course my parents would also love to be able to follow the first steps of their first grandchild
Thank you so much for your consideration.
Best regards,
Alex
May 27th, 2009 at 11:10 amHello Mike…………..
I would like this “gadget” for my husband…………he doesn’t take photo’s like I do, but loves he’s dated Video camera, which I have to say is way to big to carry around with us, even on bacation. This handy pocket size camera would be excellent for him, then he would not keep looking for someone to carry his dates one for him.
PLEASE, PLEASE……HELP US OUT……WE WOULD LOVE HIM TO WIN IT…..THANKS MIKE.\

May 27th, 2009 at 11:12 amA Flip’s new UltraHD camcorder would be a perfect addition for my motorcycle. Space is always at a premium when you pack. It is small and versatile, perfect for a motorcycle. I could use it when I visit my grandchildren in California and when my other son gets married in September. Thanks for doing such a great job on the gadgets, Mike.
May 27th, 2009 at 11:19 amMy wife will not stop bugging me at work unless I put a comment in for a chance to win your funky little camorder. We have two beautiful kids and it would be GREAT to have a little camcorder that would fit in your pocket to record them with instead of having to carry another piece of luggage to put our 40lb old camcorder in.PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE pick her.

May 27th, 2009 at 11:20 amA friend of mine has a 2 year old little girl who is dying of a rare cancer. She has about 5 months left to live. They have just flown back to Nfld. to visit with family and spend some quality time with their baby. I would love to give this little camcorder to them as a gift to capture their last few months together. Thank you.
May 27th, 2009 at 11:28 amThis camera is SWEET! I love the Gadget Guy… your stories always look so great. They make me want to buy so many gadgets. Now I’m broke… Wait, I hate the gadget Guy!!!
(seriously though, you’re awesome.)

May 27th, 2009 at 11:32 amHi Mike
May 27th, 2009 at 11:37 amI would love to own a camcorder. I was on a 4 week animal rescue to Thailand in January. Yes I do have a camera but I could really use something that is going to capture my true experiences. In April of next year I will be travelling to Bali for 4 weeks. The beginning of my vacation is doing a 11 day cycling tour of Bali. The remainder of the time will be spent at the Turtle Hatchery, Deep Sea Fishing and hopefully spending time at the Dolphin Therapy Retreat.
I could honestly use this camcorder to capture all of what Bali has to offer.
Thanks
Sandy
I am reminded daily about the need for our own Flip MinoHD. Catching those whimsical kid moments, the pleas to join the YouTube generation may well be quelled if I could just actually join in. Those pleas from my hubs who thinks it’s hillarious to embarass the kids and could well do so with this vid and its ease to upload to the net. Besides it so small I may be able to catch hubs in his own ambarrassing moments….
May 27th, 2009 at 11:39 amI would love to win the camcorder. I haven’t owned one but have always wanted one. The video that my digital camera takes is just not the same. I think it will also be great to spy on my teenagers to see what they do when we are not home… mmmm.
thank you

Hi Mike, I am always ready for a challenge and figuring out how to work gadgets is usually a challenge for me. I have mastered the computer so now I am ready for something new. This Flip Video Camera looks like fun and would be handy for recording those cute moments with my grand children, once I figured out how to work it. My current photo device is a disposable camera so this would be a real upgrade! Thanks for entering me in the draw and if I win this will be me. \(^ _ ^)/
May 27th, 2009 at 12:01 pmGot to have it!!!! That thing looks really cool, but besides it being cool, our little family needs to have the camcorder. My wife Shelly and I have a newborn son,Nicholas, 7 days old today and a 3 year old daughter, Sydney. We would love to capture these precious moments on film to show the 2 of them when they get older. Sidney is all about taking care of her baby brother! Everything from holding him when he cries, with help from mom and dad of course, to even helping change the diapers, it would be priceless at Nicholas or Sydney’s wedding to show how she changes a newborns diaper! Thanks

May 27th, 2009 at 12:03 pmPicture this – trying to travel/camp with triplet boys, a dog and a husband. Can you imagine the amount of stuff I have to bring to make sure we have enough food, clothes, shoes, etc. Having something as compact and convenient as the Flip MinoHD camcorder would be a god-sent. It would mean no more big, bulky video camera along with the millions of other items to pack. And the Flip MinoHD camcorder is compact enough that I could record my triplets without their knowledge so I can show some embarrassing footage at their weddings! LOL
Thanks…

I have two small granddaughters and would LOVE to have a camcorder this portable while I crawl around on the floor!
May 27th, 2009 at 1:13 pmI am a indie film maker in town and host my own online music program called Drew’s Reviews. I really got thrown into the position , but not without my own passion involved. Since the start back in Feb 08, I have been borrowing cameras to shoot all my footage with all these terrific bands. Really the plan with the show has been to get local talent seen (as the media doesn’t really do much more than a short clip of them) and hopefully get people out of their houses into the clubs to watch live. So far the response has been amazing and I want to keep doing this as it’s really is one of the only places some of these bands will ever get heard. All this with the knowledge it will soon all end in a flash (no pun intended) when I return the current camera. Please, this would be a huge bonus and contribution to the local music scene and would certainly be put to use with the love of Calgary’s contribution to music. Enjoy the sunny day!

It’s my families 50 years in Canada family party in today actually! My parents and 2 older sisters immigrated from Holland 50 years ago. I did too, but mom was 4 months pregnant with me, so I don’t think that counts. We’re having a huge anniversary party in July to celebrate. It would be wonderful to video tape my parents, with my sisters and all the grand kids and great grand kids at the party.
May 27th, 2009 at 1:22 pmI have been trying to respond to this all morning……..but I am sooooo busy with new born twin girls. I would love to have this gadget as I would love to capture my twins as they are growing up . My diaper bag is so big that this would be perfect size …….sorry I would love to say more but the twins are calling again……..
